Xhorse Key Tool Plus Adds 2017- Jeep Compass Smart Key

Why need FCA 12+8 universal adapter?

All 2018 FCA (FIAT/CHRYSLER/ALAFA ROMEO) vehicles are equipped with SGW safety gateway modules to prevent access to the vehicle from the OBD2 port via a non-original diagnostic scanner. The purpose of the FCA 12+ 8 Universal Adapter cable is to prevent attacks on the vehicle network via CAN bus.

 

There are two FCA 12+8 Adapters for selecting.

Option 1:  OBDSTAR FCA 12+8 ADAPTER

Option 2: Autel FCA 12+8 Adapter Cable

 

How to use FCA 12+8 Universal Adapter?
1.Locate and unplug the 12pin and 8PIN connectors of the SGW module.
2.Then connect the FCA 12+8 directly to the 12pin and 8pin (two connectors connected to the SGW) connector on the car.

Note: the gateway connector is generally behind the CD player (Commander, Cherokee), under the co- pilot glove box (Grand Cherokee), and under the steering wheel (Compass, Wrangler)

3.At this point, normal communication with the car can be achieved.

4.Connect the OBD connector of FCA 12+8 universal adapter cable to Xhorse Key Tool Pad OBD cable

 

Main steps to add new smart key to 2017- Jeep Compass:

Step 1: Program remote

Put the key into the coil of KeyTool Plus

Go to “Remote Program” function

Select All brands-> Jeep-> Compass-> Compass (2017+) keylessGo ID4A

Tap “Generate”

Burn successfully

Step 2: Program smart key

Go to “Immo Programming” function

Select All brands-> Jeep-> Select from model-> Asia-> Compass-> 2017- -> Keyless Go

Tap “Start programming”

Select “Program smart key”

Switch ignition off, turn on the security warning light (double flash lights)

Make sure there are no wireless devices near the smart key

Keep the smart key to be programmed close to the central console (or start button), then press and release UNLOCK button on the remote once and wait for 5 seconds, do not press any button during this time.

Note: The new key must be the original key of the current model, otherwise the program may fail.

Match the key successfully, and the current key number is 2.

Finally, use the key to test the remote and start car, both work well.
